Overall it has been a great trip, and I am incredibly sad to see it come to an end. I know that I have made some real connections here and have witnessed incredible transformations in my perception of the world. We had tons of fun such as caving and an archeological dig at Adullam Forest, camel rides, shopping in Jerusalem and Tzvat, floating in the Dead Sea, and hiking on the cliffs of Mount Arbel.

We were lucky enough to be able to travel with Israeli solidiers [participants] that are our age. One of the most inspiring aspects of traveling with Israelis, is their commitment to their country and their strong political views. We had many conversations on this trip regarding our Jewish spirituality, identity and connection with Israel. Each one of the Israelis that came on the trip were well educated on the history and politics of Israel, and had a passion to protect and serve the people of the country. We also met an Israeli mother on our trip who taught us the history of the Independance Hall. She spoke of how hard it was to see her three children go into the Israeli army, but she emphasized the importance and pride she had in each one of them. She expressed that the necessity to protect Israel and the Jewish people is something that Israelis take seriously. I have never seen such national pride in my life. Literally, every Israeli that I talked to voiced the importance of the IDF (Israeli Defense Force). I will be sad to leave Israel, but the country has given me new inspiration to lead my Jewish life. I have gained much from this trip and will miss everyone tremendously!!! -Ellie & Michelle
